Feng Shui for the Bathroom

Published by admin on

Water is praised in feng shui because it is an excellent carrier of chi. However, water’s ability to transmit chi might have drawbacks in the restroom. The numerous conduits in bathrooms that remove water—tub drains, sink drains, toilets, and so on—also remove healthy chi. Follow these suggestions to keep your home’s positive chi from fleeing through the bathroom:

Bathroom Doors

  • The entrance door of the house, as well as the bedroom doors, should not be visible from the bathroom doors.
  • A bathroom door should be kept locked at all times if it is visible from the front door or a bedroom door, unless someone is entering or exiting.
  • The bathroom door should be kept closed if it is linked to a bedroom (as in a master suite).

The Toilet and Drains

The toilet, in addition to being a potential source of good chi, is also a potential source of bad chi because it is a receptacle for human waste. To prevent the toilet from leaking good chi or generating evil chi, follow these steps:

  • Do not put the toilet right next to the entryway. This posture causes the evil qi from the bathroom to spread throughout the house.
  • Make sure the toilet is hidden from view through the bathroom door. The toilet should be placed behind a door or hidden behind a divider.
  • When the toilet is not in use, keep the lid closed.
  • When not in use, close or plug the drains in the sink and tub.
  • Allowing a toilet to share a wall with the head of a bed can allow the toilet’s negative chi to travel through the wall and influence the person sleeping.

Bathroom Mirrors

  • Avoid putting a mirror next to the toilet since the reflection can amplify the poor chi.
  • On the outside of the bathroom door, hang a full-length mirror. Any positive chi can be deflected by the mirror, preventing it from escaping via the bathroom.

Balancing Yin and Yang

Because of the water and spherical curves of bathrooms, they have a lot of yin energy. Add yang-energy things to the bathroom to bring it into balance, such as:

  • Candelabras (fire and light)
  • Hand Towels (dryness)
  • Rugs are a type of carpet that is used (warmth and dryness)
